FOR SAFETY AND

SUCCESS

Academy Camp @ JPSPlex Basics:

  • Registration is open to everyone 5-18 years old
  • Participants will be placed into small groups or "pods" of 10-15 participants
  • Prior to the first day of Academy Camp, each participant (or guardian) will be able to share all relevant information regarding their virtual learning (parent/guardian access codes to platforms to better guide and aid in the timely completion of work, required virtual classroom participation times, syllabus, learning exceptionalitize or needed ares of growth, etc)
  • Each group or pod will have a basic schedule or outline for each day that will include a balance of work periods (+- 45 minutes), play and movement periods (both organized activities lead by our team and free time supervised by our team) extra curricular periods (options include board games, small projects and exploration of the arts) and snack/lunch/restroom breaks
  • Participants will bring their specific virtual learning components each day to camp
  • Participants will bring required PPE (i.e. mask to be worn at all times not engaged in physical activity), learning aids, lunch (or money to purchase on site from us) and reusable water bottles
  • Parents/Guardians will be invited to communicate directly with guides and camp leadership prior to, during or after any camp day via email, phone call, text or video conferencing

Safety Protocols, Procedures and Requirements

Mitigating the Chance of Covid-19 at Academy Camp Highlights:

MASKS/FACE-COVERING and TEMPERATURE CHECKS

  • All persons (staff and participants) will be required to wear a mask/face-covering and will be screened for temperature prior to entering
  • Staff will be required to wear mask/face-covering at all times while inside the building with the only exception being when eating/drinking
  • Participants will be required to wear a mask at all times with the exception of when eating or participating in physical activities

SOCIAL DISTANCING

  • Participants and Staff will be assigned to specific groups or "pods" of a maximum of 15 people
  • Participants and Staff will ALWAYS keep a minimum of 10 feet of social distance from any person, participant or staff member, not in their specific group or pod
  • Social Distancing within groups or pods will be practiced whenever possible
  • Parents/Guardians and outside vendors will not be allowed to enter the building during AM Drop-Off/ PM Pick-Up or during the day unless absolutely necessary and with specific social distancing plan in place

GENERAL SANITATION PROCEDURES

  • All areas of the building will be subject to nightly deep sanitation by Junction Place Sportsplex staff
  • All areas, furniture and equipment will be sanitized at the completion of use as well as at specifically scheduled times throughout each day
  • Participants with skin sensitives or medical issues associated with the use of CDC Approved Sanitizing products will be required to indicate such at time of registration and will either need to make special, suitable arrangements or will be asked to not participate

VENTILATION PROTOCOLS

  • As studies suggest one of the major contributing factors to the spread of COVID-19 is through airborne pathogens, we will continue to put a heavy emphasis on constant air circulation, at all times, inside the building
  • This includes 24 hour operation of our 5 commercial grade ceiling mount exhaust fans, 9 floor level drum fans and multiple oscillating fans
  • Each day will see the opening of all exterior doors (pedestrian and large bay doors) to promote fresh air constantly cycling through our 20,000 sq foot building

POSITIVE TEST PROTOCOLS

  • At the time of registration, each guardian will have to verify that if at any time a participant, or any member of the household of the participant, comes in contact with someone known to be positive or symptomatic of COVID-19, guardian will immediately notify camp staff and will also be required to quarantine for a period of at least 14 days, with no signs of illness, prior to returning to camp
  • A single positive case by a participant or staff member will see that individual quarantine for at least 14 days and will require a negative test, prior to being allowed to return (credits/refunds will be issued)
  • If more than one person, or a member of a household in more than one participants house, in the same group or pod, test positive, all participants of that group or pod will be immediately notified and asked to quarantine for at least 14 days prior to being allowed to return (credits/refunds will be issued)
  • If more than one person from two or more groups or pods is positive for COVID-19, camp will be put on hold for all participants (credits/refunds will be issued)
